On view all hours! Cut-up poems and collages inside and outside of the gallery.

  • Poetry mobiles inside & stencils outside the gallery by Alexis Fedorjaczenko. Found text and images from sources including mainly the Audubon Society’s The Nature of Massachusetts, and also The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson and several children’s books.

  • A rotating selection of work from the community. Currently on display, Northampton High School student work from a cut-up workshop held on April 9.

MAKE YOUR OWN POSTCARD POEM

COLLAGE is pasting various materials onto a surface to make a new piece of art.

CUT-UPS are word collages made by tearing or cutting an existing text into pieces and rearranging some of the pieces into a poem.

MAKE YOUR OWN cut-up poem & collage using a kit from GALLERY #1 or with your own materials! Kits include a postcard to make your collage on; pages for you to cut-up (from children’s books, the Audubon Society, and Emily Dickinson); and other mixed materials.

SHARE your creation any of these ways:

  • MAIL in a post card to be shown in Tiny Gallery #1 and/or in the online community gallery. Use a post card kit from Gallery #1 or make your own collage/cut-up poem and send it to: PO BOX 340, Ashfield, MA 01330.

  • EMAIL a photo of your cut-up/collage for posting in the online community gallery. Use a post card kit from Gallery #1 or your own materials and send a photo to: poetryonthepath@gmail.com.

  • TAG a photo of your post card on Instagram with #poetryonthepath. With thanks to & blessing from Sophie Chambers who used the phrase “Poetry on the Path” for her poetry installation in Tiny Gallery #4 last year. Let’s make it a thing ;-)
